Skyvantage was delighted to be commissioned by Kew as the first ever UAV operators to film at the Royal Botanical Gardens. Due to severe storms we had to wait for ideal weather conditions but the wait was certainly worth it. A freezing cold and frosty morning in November provided the perfect sunrise over the 14,000 trees which were in their full Autumnal glory.

Toby who piloted the rig for the Kew shoot said “we have never been on a shoot before where the conditions were so still and perfect. Every direction the camera pointed in captured something beautiful, providing us with over 10 minutes of stunning usable RAW footage. It really was the “perfect shoot!”.

Due Kew’s close proximity to the the LHR flight path, special permissions were obtained for NATS (National Air Traffic). 

Kew Gardens is set in 121 hectares of stunning grounds in South West London near Richmond.
